Extracting building footprints from LiDAR data and compute their base elevation and height.

Purpose: Advance GIS course

Semester: 2nd (Spring)
Date: January to April 2024
Softwares: ArcGIS Pro
Skills: LiDAR, 3D Visualization, Geoprocessing, Python, Spatial Analysis, Image Mosaicking, Terrain Analysis

Task 1: Generated ground elevation raster using the Triangulation Interpolation Type and Natural Neighbor method.

Task 3: Generated Model Builder to automate sub-tasks for creating building raster.

Task 4: Generated cleaned-up buildings by using the “Eliminate Polygon Part” to and setting the area as 200 square meters threshold.

Task 2: Overlay buildings on a base map imagery in a 2D scene

Task 4: Generated raster polygon of buildings using the final output from the Model Builder

Task 4: Exported “surface elevation” layer raster.
